Care Instructions
Our lids are made from soft cotton corduroy and built to handle a fair bit of life out in the wild. Treat them right, and they’ll be your trusty noggin’ toppers for years of birding, beach walks, and coffee runs.
- If your lid’s been out in the elements (sun, sweat, salt, or sand), give it a quick rinse with fresh cold water. It keeps the fabric soft and stops the clasp from corroding.
- Spot looking grubby? (Sweat marks, mud splashes, bird poop mishaps… it happens.) A gentle hand wash with mild soap in cold water will bring it back to life. Go easy—no heavy scrubbing.
- Never chuck your bird lid in the dryer, unless you want a cap fit for a fairywren. Always air dry in the shade to keep the shape and colour crisp.
- In warm or humid spots, hang your lid up or stash it in a cool, dry place. Leaving it in direct sun (like on your car dash) will fade those feathers real fast
⚠️ Note: Salt water = corrosion. If you take your lid out for an ocean dip, rinse it after. We’ll always replace faulty products, but we can’t replace lids that haven’t been loved. Look after your bird lids, kids.
