BIRD #21 OF 45

Eastern Whipbird

The Eastern Whipbird is one of Australia’s most iconic songbirds, famous for its explosive whip-crack call that echoes through dense forests. Despite its loud voice, it’s surprisingly difficult to see as it prefers to stay hidden in thick vegetation.

You’ll often hear one long before you spot it.
