Emu

The Emu is Australia’s largest bird and one of the most recognisable species in the country. These tall, flightless birds roam across open landscapes, using their powerful legs to travel long distances in search of food and water.

You’ll often spot them walking through grasslands, farmland or open woodland, sometimes in pairs or small groups.

    Male Emus do most of the parenting. After the female lays the eggs, the male incubates them and cares for the chicks for months after they hatch.
