Swift Parrot

The Swift Parrot is one of Australia’s most remarkable migratory birds. It breeds only in Tasmania before flying across Bass Strait each year to spend the winter feeding in forests and woodlands on the mainland.

Sadly, it’s also one of Australia’s most threatened parrots.

    🦜 Small, slender green parrot with long pointed wings
    ❤️ Bright red face, throat and shoulders
    💙 Blue patch on the crown and cheeks
    🌺 Often seen feeding on flowering eucalypts in fast-moving flocks
